A Streetcar Named Desire June 1-17
By spltadmin @ 12:03 PM :: 74 Views :: 0 Comments ::

Mike Menszycki and Amanda Welch as Stanley and Stella

City Theatre presents an American Classic by Tennessee Williams

A Streetcar Named Desire – June 1-17

Step off into the steamy French quarter of New Orleans, amongst the tumble down apartments on the seedier side. Embrace the tragic tale of Blanche DuBois; her life derailed by romantic illusions unable to withstand the harsh light of reality as the animal just beneath the surface of her polite southern exterior tries to escape.

Director Keven Renken adeptly directs a seasoned cast in the Pulitzer Prize winning play whose roles are nothing less than iconic. All the  while providing the audience with a starkly intimate look into the private lives of one family tore apart. Its the old south meeting the rising industrial working class with explosive results. In the end, you are left with Blanche’s unforgettable final words “I have always depended on the kindness of strangers”.

 Make your reservations now.

Shows at City Theatre June 1-17: Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00PM and Sunday matinees at 2:00.
